Core Combo Mat is a composite reinforcement material constructed by stitching together synthetic mat or woven roving with chopped strand mat (CSM) using polyester thread. Engineered for high-performance applications, it is ideally suited for Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) and RTM Light processes.
Key Features:
- Binder-Free Construction: Eliminates chemical interference, ensuring excellent compatibility with polyester, vinylester, and epoxy resins.
- Process Simplification: Reduces layup steps by integrating multiple reinforcement layers into a single preform, streamlining RTM workflows.
- Efficiency & Cost Savings: Enhances resin flow and consolidation, cutting production time while lowering labor and material costs.
- Structural Integrity: Combines the tensile strength of woven roving with the surface uniformity of CSM for balanced mechanical performance.
Technical Specifications:
- Layer Configuration: Customizable combinations of synthetic mat/woven roving + CSM
- Stitch Material: Polyester thread (standard)
- Areal Weight Range: 500–2000 g/m² (application-dependent)
This product is particularly effective in applications requiring rapid mold filling and consistent laminate quality, such as automotive body panels, aerospace components, and marine structures. Its stitch-bonded design eliminates delamination risks, making it a reliable choice for high-volume composite manufacturing.
