Fiberglass Stitched Chopped Strand Mat

Chopped Strand Mat (CSM) is constructed from 50mm-length chopped glass strands randomly yet uniformly distributed and stitched with polyester thread. Engineered for high tensile strength, this material is ideally suited for pultrusion, discontinuous winding, and laminates processes.

    Key Features:

    • Binder-Free Design: Ensures superior compatibility with polyester, vinylester, and epoxy resins, eliminating chemical interference during curing.
    • Balanced Mechanical Properties: Delivers optimal tensile and impact resistance for consistent performance in composite structures.
    • Process Adaptability: Facilitates easy resin impregnation in both automated (e.g., pultrusion) and manual (e.g., hand lay-up) manufacturing environments.
    • Cost-Efficient: Low material and processing costs make it a preferred choice for high-volume applications.

    Technical Specifications:

    • Fiber Length: 50mm
    • Stitch Type: Polyester thread
    • Areal Weight Range: 300–1200 g/m² (customizable upon request)

This product excels in applications requiring uniform reinforcement and ease of handling, such as automotive components, marine hulls, and industrial pipes. Its binder-free composition and mechanical consistency make it a versatile solution for diverse composite manufacturing needs.

    Chopped Strand Mat (CSM)

    Emulsion Binder CSM
Designed for hand lay-up applications in general moulding, Emulsion Binder CSM is optimized for use with polyester resins. Ideal for producing fiberglass boats, construction components, and other large-scale composite structures, its emulsion binder ensures consistent resin wet-out and ease of handling in manual processes.

    Powder Binder CSM
Powder Binder CSM offers superior moldability, conforming more effectively to complex geometries compared to emulsion-bound mats. Recommended for chemical-resistant applications, it is compatible with both vinyl ester and polyester resins. Lightweight variants (80/100/120/150 g/m²) are specifically engineered for automotive interior applications such as car headliners, balancing strength and weight efficiency.

    Stitching CSM
Featuring high tensile strength, Stitching CSM is purpose-built for industrial processes like pultrusion and discontinuous filament winding. Its stitch-bonded structure enhances mechanical integrity during high-tension manufacturing, making it suitable for producing pipes, structural profiles, and other reinforced components requiring dimensional stability.
